Meet Our Pastor
Hello!
I’m Pastor Paul Schroeder. I grew up in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin—just about 30 minutes outside of Milwaukee. As a teenager, I attended Northwestern Prep School in nearby Watertown, about 12 miles from home. After graduating in 1987, I continued my education on the same campus at Northwestern College, earning my Bachelor of Arts in 1991. From there, I went on to study at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon and graduated with my Master of Divinity in 1995.
I began my ministry in a small church in Rock Springs, Wisconsin, where I served for 15 years before being called to King of Kings in Apache Junction in December of 2010. My focus here has been outreach, sharing God’s Word and connecting with people in our community.
My wife, Julie, and I actually met back in high school at Northwestern Prep—though she was living in Texas at the time! We’ve been blessed with two wonderful children. Our son, Everett, lives in Atlanta with his wife, Mariah, and their son, Ian. Mariah teaches at Sola Fide Lutheran School in Lawrenceville, while Everett works in commercial construction. Our daughter, Maddie, lives in Denver with her husband, Christian. She serves as the Early Childhood Director at Zion Evangelical Lutheran School, and Christian teaches grades 3–5 and is part of the Principal Apprentice Program.
When I’m not working, I enjoy sports, music, and art. I especially love playing golf here in Arizona and hope to continue exploring and enjoying all the beauty the Southwest has to offer.
