About King of Kings
Our church is a community centered on God’s grace, grounded in His Word, and united by faith in Jesus Christ. Here you’ll find people of all ages growing together in worship, learning, and service. Our History
We see our church body as a tremendous blessing from God! In 1983, the initial support to start up King of Kings in our Apache Junction community was almost exclusively funded by the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod through her national and local boards for Home Missions. Since then we have developed into a self-supporting congregation which understands the privilege of supporting other new mission starts with our offerings.
Jesus has given the church one clear mission: to share the good news of salvation with all people (Mark 16:15). At King of Kings, we live out that mission by preaching, teaching, and sharing God’s Word so people can find hope, comfort, and guidance for life and eternity.

Confident in God’s promises, we put our full effort into proclaiming the gospel. By standing on the solid ground of Scripture and the Church’s wisdom, we adapt wisely to each generation while keeping our eyes on what truly matters: lives transformed by Christ.

Philosophy of ministry
At King of Kings, everything we do is aimed at glorifying God and pointing people to the salvation found in Jesus. Our ministry is built on the means of grace—Word and Sacrament—and modeled after Christ, who came to serve rather than be served. We boldly confess our faith, empower our members to take ownership in ministry, and strive for excellence in all we do, seeking to serve God and our community with heart, skill, and devotion.
Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Paul Schroeder has served at King of Kings since 2010, bringing a heart for outreach and a love for sharing God’s Word with our Apache Junction community.
Our Affiliations
As part of Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), we are connected to a nationwide network of congregations and ministries that share our mission to teach God’s Word and support each other in faith.
ALA is a high school set apart by its focus on academics, extra-curricular opportunities, and a safe, welcoming environment for students. While a Christian background is not required, the school’s curriculum and activities are guided by God’s Word, shaping students in faith, family, and future.
Pilgrim Lutheran School is a private Christian school located in Mesa, Arizona. Pilgrim offers an exceptional Christian education to students from preschool through eighth grade, while also supporting families in deepening their understanding of God's Word, empowering them to serve God more effectively.
MLC prepares teachers and church workers to serve congregations and schools in WELS. Through this partnership, King of Kings supports a broader mission of faith-based education and leadership.
